 Hi, This week for cyber smart we start looking at the summer learning journey. As we go into Holidays in the summer we learnt that when we do no learn we go down the learning slide everyone does, but when you do the summer learning Journey you can keep you learning going up and not down. Sharing my new learning on my blog!

 Hi, these past 2 weeks I have been working on  the 4 steps to standing up to bad behaviour. 

The four steps are:

Number one buddy with the person who is getting bullied.

Number two interrupted the bullying to make it stop.

Number three speaks out, be an up stander and tell the bully to stop.

Number Four tells someone like a teacher, a parent or a responsible adult.

Month of the Rosary.

 Hi this month we have been learning the rosary. First you say the sign of the cross, next 1 our father,then 3 hail Mary's, next 10 hail Mary's, then one glory be and one our father and the first mysteries witch our the joyful mysteries. Now 10 more hail Mary's, now one glory be and a our father and the 2 mysteries witch are the Luminous mysteries. Next 10 hail Mary"s once again and one glory be and one our father and the sorrowful mysteries. Now 10 more hail Mary's and then one glory be and 1 our father and the glories mysteries. The glories mysteries include The Resurrection is when after three days Jesus comes back to life again and the third day and everyone is shocked no one could believe so Jesus showed them his scars and they were shocked and believed witch is number 1. The ascension is when it is on Easter day when Jesus of the 40th day goes up to heaven witch is number 2. The descent of the holy spirit is when it is on the 50th day ten days after Jesus ascension up to heaven. Jesus descends the Holy Spirit down to his apostles witch is number 3. The assumption is when Mary mother of Jesus goes up to heaven body and soul to be with her son Jesus witch is number 4. And the one number 5 The coronation is when God finds a place in heaven for Mary and crowns her Queen of heaven. What is your favourite mystery?

How to do a quality blog post and Comment

Hi this week for writing we are learning how to write a quality blog post and these are the mane tips I learnt. This weeks goal: Learn to use linking words and do good blog posts and comments.

1.  Make sure you have a catchy title an introtacson about what you are learning and what you are trying to teach everyboby you might put in your name and even what year or grade you are in at school. Use an intresting topic about a travel an animal report or anything You have done that intresres you. If you areing doing a blog post that a teacher has giving you You may want to do any digitl tools like Screencastify goolge drawing or a slideshow and do ctrl c to copy and ctrl shift v to present. 
2. have your goal a title and even a question to bring in lots of comments to start a conversata with a writer of reader.
3. make sure you have lots of information so that you know you are teaching the reader a new fact they did not know.
4. Now we are going to learn how to do a quality blog comment.

1. There are three topics you should add to your comment Positve thourghtful helpful. for postitive put what you like and love about the post. For thourghtful there post might remind you of something so tell them like this this reminds me of when we went on school camp. And for Helpful you need to put something that they might need to add or you might have spotted a spelling mistake that you need to fix.

Letter to the future!!!!

Hi This week for writing we had to write a letter to the future about lock down and this is my letter hope you like it and find it interesting.

 Dear reader,


 Hi in 2020 there was a sickness called covid-19 and so the prime minister decided to send everyone into lock down on the 28th which meant nobody was allowed to leave their house and we had something called a bubble and in the bubble were the people living in the same house as us so for me it was. me, my Mum,dad and sister.


                                                              School and sports


 At this time there was no school aloud. WE got 2 weeks on holiday and then we did distance learning. We used laptops and we did google meets with our classes and teachers for 5 whole weeks. It was hard not seeing school friends and for me it was hard to see gym friends also. My gym group did Zoom sessions which is an app and you can set up meetings.



                                                      Down sides and what we did


 We could not see our friends,teachers,extended family or anybody who did not live in our house which was very sad and hard for me and it got very boring. Because I was so bored we did lots of walks,bike rides, and runs. I also played with my dog a lot I played on the trampoline and learnt new tricks.

Time capsule

Hi this week my goal for reading was to read an article about a time capsule. an write it in to a report and this is my report hope you like it.

 HI there in the grounds of the construction site of the Bowen state building remaking there has been found a time capsule found by Maggie Barry. They found it in the lobby behind a granite plaque in a long brown tube. They think it was burred in 1959 .

 Who opened it 

 Maggie Barry said that Barry would assist in the opening on Wednesday at noon. It was opened on 9/04/1961. It was very hard to open. They struggled a lot. Before a pair of pliers could step in. Maggie commented oops I tore a piece of history trying to rip it open.

 What was inside

 Inside the capsule were a handful of old coins, newspapers and photos of Rita porter’s wedding day inside of a very long brown tube that was hard to open. Maggie Barry said that the newspapers are so different now and there were a lot of ads back in the day. They said that the newspaper was a post from July 1959 and the people who burred it were the people who built the Bowen state building before it needed to be re-done because there were some photos and plans for the building.

 Things you need Soap, sink with warm water,Clean paper towels or towel.


 Turn the tap on to warm and pump two pumps of soap on to your hands

 Rub your hands together on your palms and the back of your hands.


 Interlock your hands to get the soap in between your fingers.

 Make sure to get in between your nails to get out any hiding dirt.

Scrub your wristed with lots of soap to rins out the sweat on your wristed.

Rins your hands with the warm water and repeat the steps under the water.

Get a clean paper towel or towel and dry your hands.

 Turn off the tap

How to Make a Cheese Toasties!

 Things you need Bread Cheese Butter Butter knife Chopping board Plate Toastie machine Grater.


 1 wash your hands. Link on how to wash your hands.

 2 plug in your toasties machine.

 3 take your chopping board and two pieces of bread.

 4 grab your butter and knife and butter one piece of bread.

 5 grate as much cheese as you wish and put it on one pieces of your bread.

 6 take your other piece of bread and put it on top of the piece of bread with the butter and cheese.

 7 put your sandwich and put it in your toasties machine for 10 minutes and turn it into a toasties.
 8 after 10 minutes take your toasties out of the toastier machine and put it on a plate and eat up.

World War One

What Happened in World War 1

World war one started in 1914 and ended in November 1916 and we remember those 11.000 that lost their lives on the 25th of April. We were Poppy badges  because the world war was in a field of poppies in Gallipoli. 98.950 went to war and 80% of them were volunteers and they may not have wanted to go to war but they did it for us and that is why we remember those on the 25th of April each year.


ANZAC biscuits are some things we eat because in the world war  the wife's of the men made them for them because they couldn’t make bread because that would go bad by the time they got it to the men. ANZAC biscuits are a healthy thing to eat and it travelled to Gallipoli really well and the men seemed to like them.

 
Some of the men liked to bring mascots. Mascots are animals stuffed  animals a statue and more but in world war one they bran animals like bulldogs,Great Dane,goats. They bran horses to carry their gun’s  bags and stuff they needed jarring the war.

Whats in the bag

 I played what's in the bag for the first time ever. I had to read through the instructions 2 times to properly understand how to play the game. These are my instructions. How to play take some counters/Lego/coloured pencils etc I used Lego get a parent or sibling to put 2 colours of something in the nose though bag can put 4 green 2 blue 3 pink 1 purple 5 red etc but make sure the person pulling them out does not know what you put in the bag.Next pull something out of the bag and write down what colour you got be sure to put the object back in the bag and keep pulling them out the more you pull out the closer your answer will be to the correct answer. When you think you have the answer, share back what you think and see if you got it right then discuss with a parent the probability of it. I got my answer correct because I took lots of turns. The answer was 7 green and 3 pink I was so close to guessing the right answer I guessed 3 pink and 6 green.

whats inside the jolly jar

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with the teachers putting us into groups. In these groups we had to work collaboratively to create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

 I learnt that instructions need to be exact, readable fonts ,exciting language like verbs and verbs are doing words, titles, materials, and look really nice to catch people's eyes.

 Reflection on project based learning: For our Jolly Jar my group had to work hard to create the wonderful jars for our sock puppets. We also had to make the instruction clear with a big bold title and nice fonts with steps to point out the start of a new step. It is important to work well together by giving ideas and bringing in cool helpful materials.

 I contributed to my group by bringing in materials and making sure the instructions had a title, steps, readable fonts, good spelling, punctuation like full stops and capital letters. and making and helping to make the jars with tissue paper and glitter to catch the customers eyes at the fair.

 Our Jolly Jar was creative because we had a fun original idea of sock puppets and it was an easy product to make and sell. People like to create and play with the sock puppets.

 What I learned about working with others was it is okay and my group worked really well together in my group. I had Benjamin, Ebony, Issac and me Beth. It is okay to work with people you're not friends with or that you don’t know a lot about because you can work with them and learn a lot about them. I learnt lots of things from working with my group.

 How did we build community through our actions? by making a fun creative toy that someone from the community can buy and by going to the fair and selling it at the amazing fair. The fair was amazing and we raised lots of money for the bike track and some of that money was from the jolly jars.
